Design And Implementation Of State Diagram And Activity Diagram Modeling Tool Based On GEF

With the development of computer science, a variety of industries put forwardhigher demand for the quality and development cycle of software. In order to meet theconstantly changed requirements, software itself must make quick response. As themain aid tool for software design, the modeling tool can achieve all kinds of designwork efficiently.After studying the related technologies such as model driven architecture (MDA),graphical editing framework (GEF) and Eclipse plug-in, this thesis has designed anEclipse plug-in modeling tool, which implements the state diagram and activity diagrammodeling and generates code automatically. This modeling tool supports the operationsof complex models and composite models. In the same time, it also provides thefunctions such as model creation, model deletion, model constraint modification,property editing and XML storage. What’s more, this modeling tool provides themanagement functions such as model management, control management and viewmanagement. As the biggest innovation of this thesis, the tool can create independentconnectors, which do not depend on models.Practice has shown that this modeling tool is functional, easy to use and effectivelyhelps the users to design software processes. In the same time, it has good scalability,portability and maintainability, which have improved the modeling efficiency.
