Organic light emitting display(OLED) have attracted much attention and rapiddevelopment in recent years because of its excellent characteristics,such as self-lightemitting, fast response and can be used for flexible displays. Active matrix(AM) OLED isthe key to high-resolution and high-quality display. As the OLED driver ICs is the lack, inthis paper, a display driving module based on the Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)with LCD driver ICs was designed by the research of the7-inch AMOLED.By studying the characteristics of OLED display, choose the LCD driver ICs fit it. Amethod connecting screen with ICs is present. Through using double data-driver andchanging the polarity of the ICs, the problem that dot inversion of LCD Driver ICs is notmatching AMOLED is resolved, and the brightness is doubled.FPGA-based hardware driving circuit board and the display driver control programdescribed with the Verilog hardware description language are designed. And using theFPGA’s internal RAM as the output cache can greatly reduce difficulty of PCB layout andhardware costs.For the data driver IC can only receive6bit/pixel data, but lost2bit data, this paperintroduced in digital halftone technique. Use dynamic Bayer dithering algorithm on the low2-bit data of input to compare treatment, the processed results back to the high6-bit data.Improve the output image quality.Finally, the dynamic display of7-inch full-color AM-OLED with640×480resolutionsis realized. The gray level of the panel is64, and the frame frequency of it is60Hz.
