The cloud is a visible polymer, which is consisting of water droplets or iceparticles suspended in the atmosphere, it can regulate the balance of the atmosphericenergy and influence the variety of the climatic. But the existence of cloud lowers theutilization rate of satellite remote sensing data, so how to discriminate and eliminatethe cloud pixels accurately becomes the first problem solved by the meteorologicalworkers to get ready for the parameters study of the inversion of surface andatmosphere.This thesis relies on the project “the development of the cloud detectionsoftware based on the MODIS satellite remote sensing data and the calculationsoftware development to contrast and analysis the telemetry data”,researched thecloud detection principle、read and preservation the MODIS satellite remote sensingdata from the database and the cloud detection algorithm based on the MODISsatellite remote sensing brightness temperature data. According to the cloud detectionmethods for the different cloud families, I wrote the cloud detection softwarecomprehensively using multi channels data, and analyzed the cloud detection resultsat last.The full text is totally divided into five chapters, the concrete research contentsof each chapter is:Chapter1Preface. This chapter introduces the choose basis、study backgroundand meaning of the cloud detection based on the MODIS satellite remote sensing data,and elaborate the research situation of the cloud detection at home and abroad,andfinally discusses generally the research content and the results to achieve.Chapter2MODIS and Cloud Detection Technology. Firstly, this chapterdescribes the36bands distribution of the MODIS sensor and its data characteristics indetail, laying the foundation for selecting cloud detection methods. Secondly, itanalyzes the cloud properties, providing a clear theoretical basis for this thesis.Thirdly, it introduces the cloud detection principle and the basic method for clouddetection briefly, doing a full preparation for researching the cloud detectionalgorithm using the MODIS satellite remote sensing data. Chapter3The Design Scheme of Software. On the basis of research content andresults will achieved, design the software system modularly, and determine theprogramming environment by the function module will realize, at last, the chaptergives a detail description about the specific implementation plan of the clouddetection software.Chapter4The Key Technologies The Development. This chapter introduces thekey Technologies using in the process of writing software program, such as:Operation the ACCESS database using VC++—ADO technology、MATLAB andVC++mixed programming technology, and elaborates their work steps and methodsin detail, making theoretical preparations for writing the function module program.Chapter5The Realization of Function Modules. This design mainly used themodular design to achieve, contains a total of three modules: data reading module、cloud detection module and data saving module. Firstly, this chapter introduces themodule programming environment briefly, and then introduces the working principlesof each module, process flow and realization, finally gives a detailed analysis on thecloud detection results.The innovation of this thesis lies in: One, according to describe the theory andmethods about the cloud detection comprehensively, and analysis and compare all ofthe cloud detection methods of different cloud families, this thesis proposes amultichannel synthetic algorithm for cloud detection suitable for Taiwan region. Two,the cloud detection system based on the MODIS satellite remote sensing data uses theVC++and MATLAB mixed programming technology to generate the executable file,so that the cloud detection system can be run independently from the VC++andMATLAB programming environment. At the same time, this application program cando cloud detection for large number of brightness temperature data at a time,comparing with other algorithms for cloud detection, the speed of the cloud detectionis improved.
