USB3.0technology is one of the most popular research, its transmission rate is up to5.0Gbps in theory. According to a designed USB3.0deveice controller IP core, how to bulid effective verification platform and make rational test vectors to complete the functional verification of IP core directly determine the final product.The paper in view of the independent research and development of USB3.0deveice controller IP core. First, make a deep research about USB3.0link and protocol layer standard, understand the mechanism of three transmission(bulk transmission, interrupt transmission and isochronous transmission) and packet and link commmand about USB3.0IN and OUT endpoint. Then give the functional verification method about IN and OUT endpoint of USB3.0deveice controller IP core, complete verification platform planning and realize it with Verilog language, include OUT endpoint packet parameter generate module, IN endpoint packet parameter generate module, arbitration module, packet generate module, link command generate module, packet check module, link commmad check module, application receiving module and application sending module. Second, complete test vectors according to IP core design and USB3.0protocal, including a lot of normal testcase and error-inserting testcase, simulate the testcase by tcl language. Finally, through the simulation waveform and print documents we know that the test form can effectively complete the functional verification of IP core.The verification platform is valid. On one hand, it could simulate host to send various packets, copare the action of IP core with prediction result automaticly and give correct response to the request of IP core, on the other hand, it could simulate applicaton to receivet and provide data packet, monitor the process and result of interaction.The test results show that the verification platform can complete functional verification about IN and OUT endpoint of USB3.0deveice controller IP core availably. This make an important contribution for the tape out of USB3.0deveice controller IP core.
