In the1950s,Format radio originating from the United States and continues till today, become mainstream radio operating mode in the worldwide.In2002,the beginning of "Music Radio" which in China National Radio Station was a mark that the birth of the first Format Radio in China.Format Radio as a research object In this paper, has divided into six parts to discuss. The preface contains the main research background, values, methods, and brief statement of available literature. In the first chapter, based on the previous research,the author introduces the definition, features and the development both at home and abroad of Format Radio. There are more resemblance between Format Radio and specialized channel, especially their differences. The second chapter is a case analysis of Guangxi private car930, point out the innovations in Format Radio localization process. The third chapter discusses the common problems encountered in the development of Format Radio:the shackles of the management system, Format Radio tends to homogeneity, market research system is not complete, the old concept of advertising and business model rigidity problems have become the main constraints and bottlenecks. The fourth chapter discusses some strategies, the paper proposes the following approaches:Firstly, Making integrated measures to promote Format Radio step by step; Secondly, identify the location, develop the Format Radio in science way; Thirdly, reform and innovation, improve the value of the Format Radio advertising; Fourthly, keep up with the times, strength the brand building and promotion of the Format Radio; Fifth, deepen cooperation and promote the integration of media of the Format Radio. Finally, the topic is placed on the background of the entire development of media, and makes the judgment that the Format Radio will be broad prospects in the future, but development should consider the situation of our country and the media context and other factors.Format Radio is still in the early stages of development in China, there are not many academic researches have been conducted, and still groping in the practice. Through research and analysis, this paper provide some of the issues and suggestions, expect to provide some useful solutions in the development of Format Radio.
