Study On The Disturbance Of The Public Opinion Caused By The Transgenic Rice’s Safety Certificate

The research of genetically modified crops as one of the most important areas of research and application of modern genetic technology to be more and more attention by public.In August2009, two GM rice "huahui No.1" and "jianyou No.63" got Production and application security certificate issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, this is the first time to issue safety certificates for GM rice, so the GM rice become the focus of social concern, and a public opinion storm about GM rice has been discussed in December in2009.This article through statistical analysis of data combined with text analysis, use Google to search some keywords about GM rice, such as "GM rice", and record the number of the new information about the GM rice everyday, through text analysis to analyze the content profiles and attitude toward of public opinion information.The scope of research time from December2009to May2010, in this period, the public opinion storm experience conflict, developing, peak point and trough point, from the communication point of view found, the core of public opinion storm in the network was built up by two factions held opposing views, network of opinion leaders to promote the development of the storm of public opinion, network media provide a platform for public opinion storm and exert agenda-setting role. Summary of these features help us to understand this network of public opinion conflict. Give the right understanding about transgenic rice, transgenic crops. transgenic technology and its associated information, it good to improve the dissemination of science and technology system, and the establishment of the coping mechanisms of the network of events of public opinion.
