With the development of Ethernet, IP storage has becoming more and more popular in the field of data storage. iSCSI technology is the substrate storage protocol for IP storage, SCSI transfer can be implemented through TCP/IP network according to it. The research for iSCSI protocol and RAID is a little bit late interiorly, the gap exists compare with some other countries. So it’s very important to make built-in iSCSI RAID system come true.In this paper, a RAID system is introduced. In this RAID system, Intel IOP processor is the central processor unit, and Gigabit Ethernet and SATA controller to build-up the iSCSI RAID controller. The main content in this paper is shown below,To analyze and evaluate the integer design for this system, according to comparison among the products and parts off the shelf, to get to know the requirements of iSCSI controller system and major chips for hardware design.Hardware design, including schematics, PCB design and debugging.System test, including functional test, performance test and stability test.
