In recent years, the rapid development of computer technology, communicationtechnology and geographical information technology promotes Chinese radio and televisiontechnology the transition from analog to digital. Whether in the analog or digital service stage,it need to predict waves of dissemination of the field strength. It is the important basis ofstation location, field strength calculation is reasonable and right, but also to the reliability ofthe station interference analysis, frequency assignment, the final decision of the limitedfrequency resource utilization efficiency, scientific.Digital elevation model is an importantfoundation of the field strength calculation data, and therefore highly accurate elevation dataplays a vital role in the basic geographic information system. Now, the SRTM elevation datacan be said is currently the highest resolution and accuracy data, it is an important data sourcefor our geo-spatial modeling and analysis. However, the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) in theprocess of obtaining data, the signal interference, or the specular reflection, etc., led to theSRTM elevation data and the null value, especially in the area of the waters and mountainsand canyons, therefore, to enhance the SRTM Elevation the practicality and reliability of thedata, it must be null region of the data to fill. The results of this paper are including:(1) Analysising of the empty value of the SRTMdata to fill the significance and development status of the SRTM data null region to fill theexisting methods and processes, and pointed out the shortfall and the problems of existingmethods;(2) Particularly analysising and comparing a variety of commonly used imputationmethod, summed up the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of fill;(3) From the aboveconclusion, putting forward the filled region of the null value of SRTM elevation data usingASTER data through the analysis of two data distribution characteristics of the elevationdifferences;(4) Testing the feasibility of the above methods applied to the field strengthanalysis;(5) But that the proposed imputation method only in a small area, but cannot guarantee the accuracy of the interpolation results in a wide range.
