Lxi Arbitrary Waveform Generator Digital Circuit And Driver Design Improvement

Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) is a type of signal source widely used in modern measureing and testing system to provide signal stimulus. AWG has been applied in people’s daily life、national construction and techonolgy development.Along with the development of bus technology,the type of AWG based on LXI bus has appeared.It can not only produce a variety of waveforms, but also realize the synchronization and interchangeability of instruments in ATS (Automatic Testing System).Otherwise,it can translate commands by LAN to realize remote control.This subject has made a study on the digital module of an AWG base on LXI bus, raised an improved program and put it into practice on the basis of existing hardware environment.Then, more features have been added to meet modern automatic test system. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. Improved the way that the waveform data is storaged and the capacity to ensure that the waveform data is right, in the meantime raising the waveform switching rate.2. Added modulation waveforms such as SWEEP and BURST.3. According to the standard of LXI trigger, dedigned the receiving mechanism to complete the reception of LXI trigger signal.After the arrival of the trigger signal,a waveform is generated.4. Designed the synchronous interface in order to realize synchronization work with other instruments.5. Completed the driver for the digital circuit system of LXI AWG.The driver has undertaken the task of guiding the hardware circuit work orderly and correctly, with the result of waveforms generated and functions achieved.6. After the improving designs on LXI AWG, the paper has to test and verify the digital circuit to prove the validity of the designs with oscilloscopes and other equipments. As a result, all the improvements are realized with indicators satisfied.
