The Study On Construction Of Public-oriented Domestic Archives Website Retrieval Service System

Archive retrieval is one of the core functions of archives websites and also an important path for providing archive information service to the public. With the increasingly enhancement of archive awareness in the society and the further development and application of internet technology in archive work, all levels of archive departments are urged to research the establishment of retrieval service system from the angle of public demand so as to satisfy the public’s individualized archive information demand.The author used archival science, public administration, computer science, information management science and other theoretical results, analysis and explained the problems of construct the public-oriented domestic archives website retrieval service system. First, the author made investigation and analysis on the status quo of the retrieval service on the website of China’s national archive bureau, and archive websites at provincial level through the internet. The author believes that China is qualified with the realistic condition for the establishment of retrieval service system on public archive websites. On the other side, the basic theory of public archives, the policy requirements for the publication of governmental information and related researches in the information service theory have all provided theoretical basis for the establishment of retrieval service system. And then the author also designed a "Questionnaire for the Investigation of Retrieval Service of Public Archive Websites", and then distributes and recovers them through internet. The author made statistical analysis on the results of the investigation questionnaire from six aspects, including, the basic information of the public, the rule of public’s retrieve behavior, public’s demand on archive information, the output method of the retrieval result on the(archive websites, assessment on the retrieval system on archive websites by the public and the opinions and suggestions on the archive websites and retrieval system by the public. Finally, the article introduces the rules and goals for the establishment of retrieval service system, and then points out the key factors for realizing the retrieval service system on archive websites including the two aspects such as technical support and system guarantee. And constitutes the structure for the retrieval service system of public archive websites from two layers including the individual archive websites and archive websites at provincial and national level.
