With the development of power industry of the countries in the world,500kV and1000kV even higher levels of EHV transmission lines become the norm, accordingly, it is for ultra-high pressure testing equipment, high voltage, insulation resistance, sensitivity, bandwidth, immunity to electromagnetic interference is proposed higher requirements. Conventional electromagnetic voltage sensor due to the inherent characteristics of its structure is difficult to meet the above requirements, so the entire industry’s urgent need for a new type of voltage sensor.1960s, the human invented optical fiber. The fiber has a very good electromagnetic insulation, so fiber-optic voltage sensor is considered to be a good substitute of the conventional electromagnetic voltage sensor. The fiber-optic voltage sensor using fiber as a transmission medium, according to some functional materials or fiber physical effects to the measurement of voltage.Thesis is to study on BGO crystal lateral modulation type optical fiber voltage sensor, and propose a more detailed elaboration about its structure and basic principles of sensing head. Design low-cost light source--DFB coaxial laser sensor, for the purchase of no temperature control DFB coaxial design of laser drive circuit, temperature control device and display circuit, reduce the cost and make the light source properties as stable as possible. For current fiber voltage sensor General using insulator isolator, which create problems that detection device is heavy and expensive, I raise a method using multiple hanging type fiber voltage sensing head to implement high pressure voltage detection, which indirectly through the electric field intensity measuring voltage and fully utilize the advantage of fiber’s good insulation, without grounding line, and work out the support of sensor, so greatly reduce traditional high pressure sensor to rely on grounding insulator and lower the manufacturing cost of sensor.
