In the digital age, the third information revolution is coming. The internet, on behalf of new media at this age, did not only change the function of society traditional communication or create new content of communication, but also influenced the aspects of economics, culture, and life style of the whole world. The aim of developing technology is to improve the people’s life circumstance. And the development of Internet mass communication will change our way of living and considering while change the media function itself.Based on the classical theory of communication and society, in this paper, we will discuss the communication function of weblog and microblog, two ways of Internet mass communication, on the aspects of the method, content, communicators, media, and influence of communication. In the process of researching, we will pay more attention on combination of theory and facts, and make full use of the scientific methods as content analysis, case analysis and contrast research, in order to provide the scientific and reasonable foundation for the paper research achievements.Finally, on the basis of the contrast research of weblog and microblog, we discussed the future orientation the Internet mass communication might go, and the influence it may take to our daily life and the society. In this research, we deem that the changes of the Internet mass communication have both positive and negative sides of influence to our world. On one hand, we should make full use of its positive side to benefit the humans; on the other hand, we also need to realize the bad side of it and reduce the negative influence to the society and the Internet culture. All what we do is to provide more advantage condition for the culture development.
