The theme of this stu dy is the pr oblem of influen ce of Int ernet’s emergence on e xisting mass communication. The influence of the I nternet’s emergency is not only huge, but also, it is difficult to measure. Broadly speaking, this kind of influence has firstly changed the face of th e original mass communication thoroughly from aspects of timeliness, openness and ways of obtaining information of the spread of information and so on, and then, this change, at the same time, also alters and reshapes the way people live, and the view toward society irreversiblely. So to sp eak, as a result of progress of modern information science and technology, the Internet has opened up a new mass communication “Internet age”. In this se nse, pay attention to a nd study the i nfluence of the internet and its development on m ass communication is a very meaningful topic. This paper mainly compares Internet with the existing public communication, and tentatively investigates some influence of internet on mass communication, thus, it is expect to make us more deeply understand the influence that the Internet brings to us.This paper mainly consists of four parts:The first part introduces study significance, the present study situation and the innovations of the study. As a produ ct of the d evelopment of sci ence and technology, the Internet marked the huge promoting function that development of scien ce and technology brings to so cial progress. These effects not only change the mass communication, accelerate stimulating mass communication to derive new products, but also make us rely more on the use of mass communication. This paper deeply discusses Internet’s influence on mass communication through putting Internet as a technology platform factor out of mass communication.The second part studies the nature and relationship between Internet and public communication. The emergence of the I nternet and the wi de application of t he contemporary society truly entered the information society.Either on the storage of information, Internet usage, or the interaction with the audience, internet surpasses traditional mass communication, so, I nternet is of the nature of integration. And the Internet is interactive when network pass information, the gainer of information can realize the purpose of mutual communication and sharing, which broke communication model of one point to multipoint, and realize transmission of multipoint to multipoint.The third part mainly studies the difference between Internet and traditional mass communication, it thinks, there are essential differences between Internet and traditional mass communication in aspects of timeliness, usage model and information openness, etc. These differences reflect that the development of science and technology plays a hug e role i n promoting the progress of the s ociety. The purpose of comparing Internet with mass communication is to have a more in-depth understanding on possible changes that Internet brings.The fourth part studies the influence of the generation of the Internet on mass communication, and the wide use of Internet make people enter the information era. The Internet firstly changed the face of mass communication, with the development of the Internet, many new derivatives of mass communication come into being, which accelerate the dependent use of mass communication in turn.As a result of the progress of science and technology, the emergence of the Internet has changed the traditional communication model and completely subvert people’s ways of life and thinking. As the result of the development of technology, the Internet provides people with platform of mutual communication and information sharing, which beyond the possessing of traditional transmission.
