Design And Implementation Of Location Service System Based On Android Platform

Along with the rapid development of smart phone and3G Network, the application services of mobile phone have entered into a developing period. All these changes have increased the ways of human communication, and provided users convenient services. As a kind of important information service, the location service is mainly running on personal computer or in the networking way, which is not suitable and inconvenient for users on travel. The Android platform provides a simple way to show and control the map to developers, which provides a good platform for design and implementation of position service. In addition, the open-source Android platform can reduce the cost of software development, therefore attracts more and more handset-makers.Based on the background, a location service system is analyzed, designed and implemented in the thesis. The system extends the function of the location service information acquisition from internet to mobile devices, which make users acquire information quickly anywhere and anytime, as well as sharing information. The location service technique integrates communication, GIS, Database and Position techniques. The system is based on the popular Android platform, which consists of client interface, query subsystem, track subsystem, map subsystem and the support subsystem.The Android based mobile terminal position service system developed in this thesis can meet the primary demand of users. Meanwhile, another main advantage is that more user-friendly elements are implemented in the system, which attracts more and more users to use the system conveniently. The system has been tested on the Android based simulators and the real mobile phones, which runs well and shows the good maintainability and reusability.
