The Building Of The Public Discourse Platform At We-media Age

The theory of public domain which is known as the critical tool for the development of capitalism byHabermas, was proposed in the early of the20th century, and the theory of public domain is the cornerstoneof the concept. In the view of Habermas,"the public domain" is a landmark category, which represents "thepublic domain of bourgeois". It is based on the theory of "civil society" in the medieval European, whichmeans that the person with critical spirit raise criticism and discussion for public authority. At the sametime from the perspective of history, Habermas had carried out a very subtle expression in this paper.Habermas analyzed the development and change of the public discourse space, and showed us the impact tosociety by the mass media. But the building of the public discourse platform plays a pivotal role in therational society. Now China is in the social transition period, so the public discourse space built by themedia faces serious test, for example, lacking platform for public discussion, the spread of commercialadvertising and so on, so the building of the media public discourse platform is imminent.The development of the Chinese society needs a platform for public with equal dialogue, which is theinevitable trend of the democratization process and the strong demand of the social development. Becauseof the rapid development of society, the social structure has a significant change, leading to the social groupdivided into the relatively clear level. Fast way of life style changes the pattern of people getting along witheachother, not having too much time to party and discuss. The pursuit of information, the nature ofcommunication and the attention to various social affairs makes the formation for communication anddialogue platform. For our country, because of the rapid development of society,there are many problemsof character and the tilt of culture. For this phenomenon, the building of the public discourse platform toraise the cultural awareness of modern people and to enhance national quality is urgently needed. The mainrole of the information release and the audience are ordinary citizens. The basic element of the constructionof a harmonious society is putting importance on ordinary people, and don’t drown the power of thedissemination of information from citizens. The establishment of the public discourse platform has quitebig driving force to construct a harmonious society, which describes the importance of the construction of the public discourse platform. As the new media micro blog is widely used, the right of citizens gets a verybig growth, which is the progress of the time. The micro blog as a folk public discourse platform needs totake such social responsibility. All levels of public organizations can understand and observe the publicthought through the micro blog, and it provides a good way to listen to public opinion and the suggestion,ensuring the right of the public and making the social media become an important force for the constructionof a harmonious society. On the other hand, Making use of this new type of the public opinion platformshould be known. Although the formation of the public discourse platform promotes the progress of thesociety, but we cannot ignore that speculators use the platform to make against social development, whichwill affect the practical function of the public discourse platform.This article explores the construction of China’s public discourse platform from the angle ofsociology. By combining the present situation of our country and foreign classical theory, this paperanalyzes the evolution of the platform and the shortcomings of the reality. On one hand, we should have apositive and optimistic looking to the future. On the one hand, we should put forward the problems fromseveral respects, and study in different angles, avoiding a isolated results of the study. This paper takes thefastest developing "micro blog" in recent years as an example, discussing the participation of the media inthe construction of the public discourse platform in multiple angles such as from the demand of theaudience, the news and events explored, the spread of the news information, the guidance of the publicopinion and so on. Combing with the situation of our country, the popular of the blog and thecharacteristics of the media development, this paper has summarized the problems we will face in buildingthe public discourse platform of our society so that we can sort out a set of effective solutions. The eleventhfive-year plan had made it clear to ensure citizen’s right to know, to speak, to supervise and to participate.The establishment of the public discourse platform ensures the realization of the four rights, which hasplayed a positive role in the building of a harmonious society of our country.The full text of this paper are divided into four parts. The first part defines the concept of the mediaage and the public discourse platform, and summarizes the characteristics of them. The second partintroduces the present situation of China’s public platform, and takes the micro blog as an example. Thethird part gives the corresponding countermeasures and methods in the establishment of China’s public discourse platform. The fourth part states the positive meaning brought by the building of the publicdiscourse platform to the construction of harmonious society of our country.
