The amount of the transformations on the Internet is increasing rapidlydue to the growing multimedia and network technologies. The Internetprovides a public convenient channel for exchanging information; however, the security becomes a critical issue on the Internet. Specially, the illegal users on the Internet may retrieve, intercept,camouflage, or copy the information on the transferring. Fortunately,the steganography technology provides practical solutions forexchanging secret message on the Internet. At present, information hiding technology play an more and more important role in government, military intelligence, financial systems, and the area of medical andhealth. It’s also widely used in secret communications, digital copyright protection, e-commerce security, data integrity andreliability validation and so on. With the rapid development ofdigital technology, all kinds of information hiding tools andtechniques become more and more mature. Some of them have entered thepractical stage. But there are still many technical problems to besolved.In this paper, we first introduce three grayscale reversible data hiding algorithms and simulation analysis, then we do some exploration toapplicate the algorithm in color images. As color images can be divided into three gray layers, we transplant the gray scale reversible data hiding algorithm to color images. However, we find that apparent chromatic aberration occurs during theprocess. So we propose a reversible data hiding algorithm based on the HSV color mode which can modify the brightness difference.
