In the wireless communication, the target is needed to achieve reliable, high speed data transmission. OFDM is a kind of multi-carrier modulation, it has the advantages of resisting inter-symbol interference, multipath time delay, channel fading resistance, high spectrum efficiency, simple hardware implementation. Multiple input multiple output technology (MIMO) refers to the transmitting end and the receiving end respectively using multiple transmit and receive antennas, the signal through the transmitting end and the receiving end of a plurality of antenna for transmitting and receiving, thereby improving the quality of the communication. Therefore, OFDM technology and MIMO technology has become the most popular of the two wireless transmission technology. And MIMO-OFDM technology is a collection of MIMO and OFDM two advantages at a suit. This purpose for this paper first introduces the wireless communication performance, characteristics, describes several fading wireless channel, and introduced the related extension, such as wireless channels provide the basis for early design and simulation. Then introduced the basic principle of OFDM system and the advantages and disadvantages, and studied the key technology of OFDM, selection of basic parameters, channel estimation, synchronization technology. At the same time on the MIMO principle, model and key technologies, as well as various space-time coding are introduced. Then analyzed the MIMO and OFDM technology combined with the necessity, established the MIMO-OFDM system model, and Research on its key technologies. Finally, focus on the analysis of MIMO-OFDM adaptive bit and power allocation technology, introduced based on the channel capacity maximization principle, Then based on different criteria for the power and bit allocation algorithm are introduced and analyzed, and for some classic algorithms performance was simulated and validated.
