Protocols have been played as an important part of modern embedded operation system. The mobile internet has been bloomed in this world with the approaching of 3G technology. More and more embedded devices have the needs to connect to the internet to fulfill the evolution of user’s experience. Protocol developers and testers are facing a great challenge of how to develop and verify protocols efficiently according to various standards. The test job is the matter that really hard to understand the details of procedures behind the network media. The area this article needs to discover is find a way to simulate the real conditions which is very complex and varying of protocols facing today.The main content of this title is to design and implement an automatic protocol testing system on HTMMI’s 3G solution. A system with LibNet and LibPcap is implemented to capture on and inject packets in network freely so that a simulated network is completed by writing test cases and building infrastructure.This article introduced the idea and design of how to bring automatic technology into protocol testing. With the detail description of how to implement the whole system, the article laid emphasis on how to control the system under test on test server by using an independent control channel. The article also laid emphasis on how to verdict test result by capture packets on network. Besides the design part, it shows the system practicing in a real project to demonstrate the usability and completeness. In the last part, it also introduced the design on user interface and future development plans.
