With the enhancement of overall national strength, constructing a modern navy has been put on the agenda. Modern Navy is not only owns the most advanced ships, it is also necessary to have a high-quality crew to drive ships. To develop the Ship Simulator is very necessary. Ship simulation is not only important for China’s national defense, it can be applied in the civilian sphere, for example, crew traning, education, port design and so on. Virtual Reality Technology is used for visualization simulation for the ship’s gesture of movement at sea as well as the surrounding environment. Ship simulation system is mainly divided into two parts: ship movement mathematical model and scene simulation system.Through its analysis and contrast with the modeling approach, we use MMG--the modeling ideas of separating mathematical models for mathematical modeling which is developed by Japan Towing Tank Committee (JTTC) to establish the ship 6 degrees of freedom of movement manipulation set of equations, which includes the hull, propeller, rudder models of the power and torque, as well as wind and wave interference and torque model, coupled with the anchors and cables of the subsidiary control power and torque model. Used a Runge - Kutta method for ship maneuvering motion equations and provided data for the virtual movement.Ship Visual Simulations are carried out in Visual Studio 2008 and XNA. Do solid modeling by three-dimensional modeling software 3DS MAX for the ship, port, etc. Also add textures in 3D models to get more realistic effects. Carries on real-time resolving through the write program to the ships movement in XNA. To provide a real sea simulation environment in XNA by using ships , docks, sky boxes and other 3D models and three dimensional sea level achieved by HLSL as well as the ship track line achieved by particle system. Put the posture data of ships movement which is resolved timely into ship models to ensure the ships real-time movement. The system that this article develops may help pilots to raise the level of training, reduces various expenses, along with no limiting of time, location and environment.
