With the rapid development of image display technology, the graphical user interface (GUI) andinteractive interface is moving to intelligent, high-speed and large screen direction. At present, themajority of the image display system using early dedicated processing chip, the speed of operationand design flexibility are generally low. FPGA development for the improvement of speed andintegration of image storage and display system provides new methods and ideas, FPGA has powerfullogic resources, with the allocation resources of external chip, can use a modular design concept toachieve image storage and display system.This thesis use Xilinx Introduces Spartan-6xc6slx4family FPGAs, combined with the structuralcharacteristics of the chips, made a detailed description of its capabilities and configuration, brieflyinvolved the software and hardware development environment and the VGA display principle, focuson the image signal FPGA-based digital storage and display system, the system uses proposed basedhardware acceleration of image storage and display design method based on high-speed FPGA. Thissystem is divided into the image acquisition module, image storage module and the image displaymodule design. Image acquisition module through the data conversion software, converses the imagedata into RGB data using the UART bus to send RGB data to the SDRAM; image storage modulein-depth study of SDRAM works, the design of SDRAM controller will be collected to the imagesignal is stored to SDRAM, and completed in accordance with the SDRAM read and write controltiming of the image signal input and output functions; image display module design VGA interfacecontroller use the ADV7123,makes the RGB format of the digital signal converted to analog signals,so that LCD display. This method realized the intelligent storage and display of graphics, then theimage acquisition and display will real-time and reliability.Based on completing system design, use the professional Modelsim simulation software andChipScopePro on the various modules of the system simulation and debug, and make all modulesintegrated into a system to complete the verification. Finally, system can also produce still movingimages in addition to a white field signal. Stable and color distortion image can display on a19-inchLCD screen, and then achieved the design requirements.
