30years after the reform and openning up, China has experienced a violent economic and social transformation, and this has brought about a new and overall social transformation stage, The economic and social transformation has caused some psychological imbalance. At the same time, mentality of hatred against government officials has been formed and spread over. This article attempts to make a research on mentality of hatred against government officials from sociology psychology and management science perspectives.The thesis is composed of five chapters:Chapter One introduces the background and significance of the thesis, summarizes the related studies in China and abroad, and proposes new research ideas and methods.Chapter Two conducts a theoretical study on the facts that many people today foster hatred against government officials. It points out that the mentality of hatred has three psychological origins, namely relative deprivation, group psychology and social resentment. By reviewing and illustrating the previous theoretical research, the thesis puts forward its own opinions.Chapter Three defines the mentality of hatred against government officials as the common distrust towards government officials and the mind set of presumption of guilt among the public, Then the author focuses his studies on its realistic forms and the social harms in transitional period in China.Chapter Four comprehensively analyzes different causes of the mentality of hatred against government officials in a period of social transition in China. It points out that main causes include:the negative effect of reform, incomplete policies of people’s livelihood, the tense relation between officials and the public, group psychology and the excessive media supervison toward government officials.Chapter Five puts forward suggestions to adjust and dissolve the mentality of hatred against government official. It points out that it is essential for public affairs administrators to prevent and dissolve the mentality of hatred by improving the public’s mental health, the people’s livelihood and interests, and by promoting social equity and justice.
