With the transition of system development, the scale of the town poor residents is increasing, the problems are more and more diversified, and has begun to be one of the important risk factors to affect social stability and social development. As a result of social workers to the town low income families’intervention research still belongs to the frontier in existing research, much current research focus on the relief system reform, and social work intervention is seldom.The paper discusses the feasibility of intervention in the town low income families. Firstly, the problem of the town low income families includes four aspects: self sealing, mental stress, employment difficulties and lack of external support. Secondly, the author discusses the feasibility that social workers’intervention to the town low income families. Thirdly, the author discusses the feasibility that the action research method to low income families.Then the social worker with professional theories, methods and techniques, through group, activity and other forms of intervention, to provide four categories of support for the town of Shenzhen low income families:" family system" to "social system" concept, stress relief, enhanced case main power, social support network reconstruction. And in the intervention process, the author adjusts scheme according to the problem, pays attention to the influence of Chinese traditional culture, and pays attention to low income families’children. And then, the author makes evaluation and reflection to the whole process. Hoping that through the involvement of social workers, to find out the town low income family intervention of social work ideas, ways and means, effectively increase low income family confidence and a sense of well-being, maintain social stability and unity.
