Objective:To discuss the relevance of clinical biological indicators and phlegm-stasis syndrome by TCM syndrome differenciation by the analysis of the clinical biological indicators of phlegm-stasis syndrome patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), provide the basis for clinical diagnosis, syndrome differenciation and treatment of OSAHS.Methods:1.240patients in accord with western medicine and TCM syndrome diagnostic criteria of OSAHS were randomly divided into teatment group and control group, both with120patients, by SAS9.10software and random numbers generated by a computer.2. Biological indicators such as red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin concentration (HGB), platelet (PLT), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), prothrombin time (PT) were compared in correlation with apnea hypopnea index (AHI), the lowest and average oxygen saturation (SaO2) before treatment in phlegm-stasis syndrome patients with OSAHS in mild to moderate illness degree.3. The biological indicators of patients in treatment group after TCM treatment were compared intra-group.4. TCM symptom classification quantization scoring were adopted before and after TCM treatment according to nine common symptoms appeared in phlegm-stasis syndrome patients with OSAHS, and the curative effect of TCM syndrome and single symptom were judged according to the scoring results.5. Logistic regression analysis was adopted accoding to the judged curative effect of TCM syndrome and single symptom and biological indicators.6. Data processing was completed by SPSS17.0software, ranked data with rank sum test, measurement data with (X±S), the rest with correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis. P<0.05was set as significant difference.Results:1. Patients in two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05) in gender, age, body mass index (BMI), illness degree and each biological indicator, and were comparable.2. By correlation analysis, apnea hyponea index (AHI) was correlated with red blood cell (RBC), hemoglobin (HGB), hematocrit (HCT) and serum creatinine (Cr) in patients before treatment; the average oxygen saturation (SaO2) was correlated with hemoglobin (HGB), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), prothrombin time (PT), prothrombin time ratio (PTR) and international normalized ratio (INR) before treatment; the lowest oxygen saturation (SaO2) was correlated with mean platelet volume (MPV), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) before treatment.3. Compared between before and after treatment in the treatment group, hematocrit plot (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), red cell distribution width (RDW-SD) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) declined, with a significant difference (P<0.05). Compared between treatment group and control group after the treatment, red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin concentration (HGB), hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin content (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), RBC distribution width (RDW-SD), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), prothrombin time ratio (PTR) and international normalized ratio (INR) declined, with a significant difference (P<0.05).4. By logistic regression analysis, the biological indicators closely related to the curative effect of TCM syndrome in patients after treatment were obtained, such as red blood cell (RBC), mean platelet volume (MPV), acidic myeloid the total number (EO), creatinine (Cr), activated partialprothrombin time (APTT) and prothrombin time ratio (PTR).5. Logistic regression results showed that in the single TCM symptom of patients after treatment, snoring was closely related to red blood cell (RBC) and prothrombin time ratio (PTR); suffocating to wake up was closely related to white blood cell (WBC) and mean platelet volume (MPV); dark purple lips and nails was closely related to white blood cell (WBC), platelet (PLT), the total number of neutrophils (NEU) and prothrombin time ratio (PTR); dark and gloomy complexion was closely related to mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH); lassitude and heavy body weight was closely related to mean platelet volume (MPV), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and international normalized ratio (INR); dizziness and headache was closely related to red blood cell (RBC), the total number of eosinophils (EO), large platelet ratio (P-LCR) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT); bitter taste and bad breath was closely related to red blood cell (RBC).Conclusion:1. The red blood cells in the blood routine have been proved closely related to apnea hypopnea index, the average oxygen saturation and the lowest oxygen saturation by analysis.2. After TCM treatment, the symptoms such as snoring and suffocating to wake up in patients have relieved, the hypoxic condition has improved, and along with the declined red blood cell count and hemoglobin concentration, the liver and kidney function has also improved correspondingly. It has explained that phlegm-stasis syndrome in OSAHS and the clinical symptoms are related to the biological indicators, and provided the objective basis for clinical syndrome differentiation and TCM treatment to the disease.
