This dissertation consists of four chapters. In chapter one, the chemical constituents of Momordica charantia L and their antitumor bioactivity were dealt with. In chapter two, the isolation and identification of chemical constituents from Periploca forrestii Schlecht.were present. The third chapter described the advances in studies on chemical constituents of the genus Momordica charantia L and their bioactivities from1975to2012. In the last chapter, chemical constituents of Periploca forrestii Schlecht. published from1980to2009, and their bioactivities were reviewed. From Periploca forrestii Schlecht. and Momordica charantia L.,37compounds which were different with each other, were isolated and identified based on spectral techniques and chemical methods. All these compounds were composed of triterpenoids, steroids and so on. Among them, one compound was proved to be a new one.Chapter I. Study on chemical constituentions of Momordica charantia L and their bioactivitiesMomordica charantia L.(Cucurbitaceae) is widely distributed in Asian countries and cultivated as a vegetable crop. The fruits of Momordica charantia L. possessing effect of Heat-clearing and Detoxifying have been used for treating a number of diseases, such as toothache, diarrhea, enteritis, furuncle, diabetes and so on. In recent decades, there have been many phytoehemieal investigations of the fruit of this plant because of its antidiabetic property.32compounds were isolated and purified from the fruits of this plant. Compounds10Compound10as a new skeleton. Some of the compounds were neural cell model, anti-breast cancer and hypoglycemic activity screening. Results show that compounds1and9have a certain role in neuronal differentiation. Chapter â…¡. Phytochemical study on the fruits ofPeriploca forrestii Schlecht Sepium is (Periploca Linn.) Plants belonging to the Luo Moke (Asclepiadaccae) bar willow subfamily (Subfam.PeriplocodeacK.Schum.) Flora of records around the world about12species, distributed in northeast, north, northwest, southwest, and Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Henan and Jiangxi provinces. The sepium whole plant medicine, pass through the blood circulation, detoxification, expelling wind effect, attending rheumatism and joint pain, bruises, irregular menstruation, embolism, folk are widely used in the treatment of closed soft tissue injury, rheumatism and rheumatoid diseases such as folk medicine.Branches and leaves from Yunnan sepium (Periploca forrestii Schlecht), we isolated10compounds, five compounds were identified, the remaining five chemical composition of glycerol and long-chain class, not further identify the structure. The compound1,2,4are first discovered.Chapter â…¢. Advances in studies on chemical constituents of the Momordica char antia L. plants and their bioactivitiesThis chapter described the studies on chemical constituents of the Momordica charantia L plants and their bioavtivities. The review covers44literatures published from1975to2012.Chapter â…£. Advances in studies on chemical constituents of Periploca forrestii Schlecht. and their bioactivitiesThe studies on chemical constituents of Periploca forrestii Schlecht and their bioavtivities were described.
