[Objective]To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the milli-fire needle acupuncture and moxibustion and gabapentin of relieving postherpeticneuralgia(PHN), and to explore the two methods’standard operation procedur-e, treatment processes, security and health economics value. Provides definitive evidence for the effects of two treatments of Chinese and We-stern medicine treatment of PHN, and compare their the Pros and Cons, and to establish and perfect the standard technical specifications of the milli-fire needle acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of PHN.[Method]With Single-blind, parallel-controlled, randomized clinical trial design methods, to arrange and hidden by randomly computer-generated, patients are divided into two groups (A, B) of50patients. The group A of24cases of the treatment group adopt mill-fire needle acupuncture and moxibustion; The group B of26cases of control group make use of oral gabapentin with sham acupuncture (non-Acupoint of lesions remote with shallow needling). To record the symptoms and signs about the degree of pain, the nature of pain, the pain area of the first treatment, the second treatment, the third treatment, the sixth treatment, the ninth treatment, the twelfth treatment. Six times as a course of treatment, if the patient were not cured, enter an another course of treatment. Statistics analysis of efficacy after two courses of treatment, and A month follow-up efficacy. Making use of the the statistical software SPSS13.0to analysis the statistics data. The evaluation of clinical efficacy differences between mill-fire needle acupuncture and moxibustion and gabapentin oral treatment of postherpeticneuralgia, to identify the optimum method of treatment of this disease.[Result]This subject altogether collected the50requirements cases. During the observation period, one case of blood sugar abnormalities in the group B appeared, and we had to stop observation of this case midway. At last there are totally49cases, with24cases of group A (the mill-fire acupuncture and moxibustion group, the treatment group),25cases of group B (gabapentin group, the control group). In addition to individual patients with partial needle pain in the group A, I found no adverse reactions. After the twelve treatment, A local pain effect evaluation results:the group A of24cases:the cure rate is58.3%(14), the significant efficiency rate is20.8%(5), the effective rate is4.2%(1), no efficiency rate is16.7%(4), the group B of25cases:the cure rate is4%(1), the significant efficiency rate is32%(8), the effective rate is40%(10), no efficiency rate is24%(6); After the treatment, compared to two groups of the herpes zoster changes in the pain range, the diffrence of the group A and B has significant Statistical Significance (P<0.01); After A month follow-up of the group A and the group B, the integral of pain change and the integral of changes in the pain range all has obvious Statistically significant (P<0.01). It proves that in improvement of pain and skin lesions repair the milli-fire needle acupuncture and moxibustion group is superior to oral gabapentin group.[Conclusion]Mill-fire needle acupuncture and moxibustion is the effective treatment of postherpeticneuralgia, and take effect faster, there are significant effects on the local pain and the herpes zoster changes in the pain range; and besides, the therapy is safety and without side effects, and with a high cure rate, it is suitable for promotion.
