Objective:By recording and analysis the periodontal indexes of patients and detecting the level of inflammatory factors including interleukin1β and oncostatin M in the subjects’s gingival crevicular fluid with enzyme-linked immunoadsordent assay at different periods of the orthodontic treatment, to compare band with bond buccal tube treatment, which provides reference to selection on orthodontic treatment devices.Method:1Subjects selection and grouping:Between Nov.2011and Nov.2012, according to the standard screening, finally45non-extraction patients including angle â… ,â…¡,â…¢ malocclusion deformity were selected as research object. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups on the basis of the medical record number:one group was the experimental group, the patients in which were used band buccal tube for their bilateral first maxillary molars the other group was the control group, the patients in which were used bond buccal tube for the bilateral first maxillary molars. Recruit criterion:(1) The patients took part in the study voluntarily and could regular return visits;(2) Non-extraction treatment cases confirmed;(3) Cases free of gingivitis, periodontal disease and oral mucosal disease, without dental treatment experience in past three months;(4) Cases without tooth decay or the caries have cured;(5) Patients without systematic diseases, females out of menstrual period, pregnancy and lactation period;(6) Patients without hormone or antibiotic treatment in past three months;(7) Patients received same oral health education could brush their teeth over3minutes after eating. Teenagers should be supervised by adults;(8) Patients use Gaolujie tooth paste provided by hospital for the whole period. Elimination criterion:(1) Patients treated with antibiotics and hormone or diagnosed by any relevant disease during research period;(2) Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples contaminated by blood or saliva.2Clinical check:Booked down periodontal condition at the moment of one week before orthodontic treatment and the first, third and sixth months stressing procedure in treatment, which including GCF volume, periodontal probing depth (PD), gingival index(GI).3Sample collection, storage and analysis:Collected GCF from both the experimental and the control group patients with Whatman3filter paper at the mesial and distant axis angle of the bilateral first maxillary molars. Stored samples at-70℃fridge while all samples were ready, subsequently analyzed IL-1β and OSM contents by ELISAResult:1Changes in GCF volume:There was difference between GCF volume of the experimental and control groups(P<0.05). The volume of same group differed at every measuring time(P<0.05). Data indicated lower volume of the control group than experimental group.2Periodontal PD result:There was difference between PD data of the experimental and control groups (P<0.05). The PD value of same group differed at every measuring time(P<0.05). Data indicated lower PD of the control group than experimental group.3GI result:GI data differed between the experimental and control groups(P<0.05). The GI figure of same group differed at every measuring time, however, the research indicated lower GI of the control group than experimental group.4IL-1β level detected in GCF:IL-1β level differed between the experimental and control groups(P<0.05). The IL-1β level of same group differed at every measuring time(P<0.05). The experimental group figures were generally higher than control groups.5OSM level detected in GCF:OSM level differed between the experimental and control groups (P<0.05). The OSM level of same group differed at every measuring time (P<0.05). The experimental group figures were generally higher than control groups.6The correlation coefficients of IL-1β level in GCF to GI, PD, GCF volume were0.598,0.629and0.674(P<0.05), IL-1β level and GI, PD, GCF volume had a positive correlation. OSM level to GI, PD, GCF volume correlation coefficients were0.227ã€0.701and0.754(P<0.05), OSM level and GI, PD, GCF volume had a positive correlation. The correlation coefficients between IL-1β in GCF and OSM is0.598(P<0.05).There were positive correlations between the IL-1β and clinical OSM.Conclusion:1As realized in the research that both band and bond buccal tube would impact on level of IL-1β and OSM in GCF. The two factors tend to increased along orthodontic treatment, however, IL-1β and OSM of band buccal tube were higher than the bond. It suggested that the band buccal tube might cause greater periodontal inflammation than the other.2The longer time of orthodontic treatment, both band and bond buccal tube increased GCF volume, level up PD and GI and all relevant indexes increased. Clinical data from band buccal tube was higher than the bond, which might suggest that the band buccal tube might cause greater periodontal inflammation.3The rising pace of IL-1β and OSM were in positive correlation to relevant clinical index. IL-1β level correlated OSM in positive either. It concluded that IL-1β and OSM were valid factors to judge on periodontal tissue condition in orthodontic treatment. 4Above results suggested that the bond type delivered less effects than the band. Therefore, it could be preferably adopted in orthodontic treatment. |
