Objective:This study carry out an epidemiology investigation in Congo (DRC)areas among peacekeepers troops from Chinese,explore the incidence of eye disease,toinvestigate its causes and propose intervention measures.Methods:Select218Chinese peacekeeping soldiers in the Congo (DRC) duringJuly2009-March2010as subjects for epidemiological investigation and visionscreening, eye examination, and preliminary results of its analysis, research theincidence of eye disease and causes in the Congo (gold) of such a harsh equatorialclimate, economic backwardness, wars frequently armed peacekeeping force of Africansoldiers in central and western countries, designed to protect our environment in theworld of such officers and men for peacekeeping missions provide the basis for eyehealth.Results:1ã€Study Population:the totle person is218,201are male, female are17.2ã€The prevalence of trachoma: eye desease prevalence in officers of Chinesepeacekeepers is49.26%, with the peacekeeping force officers and soldiers from othercountries compare with the prevalence of eye disease39.90%, P <0.05, statisticallydifferent; which, the highest prevalence is trachoma,for41.98%, accounting for85.05%population suffering from eye disease, the same age with the same period theprevalence of domestic general population by34.4%compared to a statisticallysignificant difference, male prevalence was43.78%,female prevalence rate was 17.65%,the prevalence of males is higher than females, significant difference. Thetrachoma of the Phase II stage is the most, accounting for43.69%of patients withtrachoma; in terms of its severity, mild (I+and II+) Chlamydia is the most, accountingfor63.20%of patients with trachoma.3ã€The prevalence of pterygium: there are6pterygium patients,prevalence was2.75%, there are a significant difference between male and female. there are4personoccurred in the nasal pterygium.4ã€The prevalence of other eye desease:conjunctiva stone has a high prevalence,2.29%; various causes of corneal opacity prevalence was1.37%; trichiasis,0.92%.5ã€Risk factors of trachoma and pterygium: are the equatorial heat, humidity, directsunlight, the stress caused by war, lack of economic substance behind the incidence oftrachoma and risk factors for pterygium.6〠Peacekeepers investigating psychological stress: physical discomfort(somatization), compulsion, anxiety, depression, terror5score in the implementation ofthe task before the task, and there are a significant difference between these factors.Conclusion:1ã€Trachoma and pterygium in Chinese peacekeeping force in Congo is themultiple eye;2ã€The incidence of eye disease in Congo region’s related to the unique geography,climate, health conditions, and the larger war conditions, psychological stress, theory of"Heaven corresponding" theory is reasonable in traditional medical and scientific.3ã€In medicine, theory of "Heaven corresponding" theory and "three for the systemshould be" principle, are important for guiding significance in treating eye protection.4ã€in the future peacekeepers must pay attention to eye protection improving the livingenvironment, reducing stress, developing good health habits, and other aspects of eyehealth education to reduce the impact of risk factors for eye disease... |
