Objective: To investigate the status of eating disorders and its related factors amongkindergarten teacher college girls as well as provide the basis for implementing earlyscreening and targeted interventions.Methods: With cluster method,2371girls were measured by Eating DisorderInventory (EDI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Adolescent Self-Rating LifeEvents Check List (ASLES), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-rating DepressionScale (SDS) and a self-administered questionnaire in the class time during October2010. On the basis of univariate analysis, we explored the influencing factors ofeating disorders among several factors (grade, age, parents’ marital status, relationshipbetween parents, relationship with father, relationship with mother, the attitudeteacher towards you, the attitude students towards you, body mass index, economicallevel, academic performance, self-rated health status, concerning about the idol atmedia, anxiety, depression, sleep quality and the domains of ASLES) throughmultinomial stepwise regression.Results: The estimated prevalence of eating disorders in the girls was7.09%(168/2371). The highest estimated prevalence in each age group is the18s group(8.0%,41/388).The highest estimated prevalence in each grade is the fifth grade(7.9%,43/411). The eating disorders score in four size girls (too thin,26.49±18.83,underweight,27.62±17.67, normal,34.40±19.96, overweight,32.33±22.19) havedifferences (F=26.79, P<0.01). Eating disorders statuses among girls with differentparents relationship, different economic status, different mass media concerning, different dieting status among relatives and friends were various (P<0.01). The relatedfactors of eating disorders were: anxiety, concerning about the idol at media,depression, been punished, other life events, health adaptation, interpersonal relationship,study pressure, body mass index, grade, sleep quality, age, friends are dieting or not,relationship with mother, relationship with classmates.Conclusion: The estimated prevalence of eating disorders was high in kindergartenteacher college girls, proper health education, reasonable diety, regular sleep is thekey to reduce the occurrence of eating disorders.
