ObjectiveTo review the effect, mechanism, postoperative complications andindication of gastric bypass surgery in patients with type2diabetes。Background DataThe morbidity of diabetes mellitus and prediabetes in patient above20years old in our country is9.7%and15.5%separately. The traditionaltreatments can hardly control plasma-glucose level for long time.Bariatricsurgery not only has an ideal result on weight loss, but also good controlin blood sugar and even the possible cure effect of diabetes.MethodsLteratures were reviewed, retrospectively and the effects of gastricbypass for type2diabetes mellitus were analyzed.ResultsGastric bypass can reduce the plasma-glucose,HbA1c and insulinlevel of diabetic patients with or without pathological obesity and keepthem in normal levels for a long period. At the same time, this surgery can markedly decrease the long-term mortality of patient with type2diabetesmellitus. In addition, gastric bypass can also improve obesity-relatedconditions, such as hypertension, dyslipidemia and sleep apnea syndrome.ConclusionGastric bypass is effective in treatment of patient with type2diabetesmellitus. Although the mechanism of this surgery is still unkown, butwe will understand diabetes more along with more research resultscomeout. The new antidiabetic drugs may emerge in the future based onthe mechanism of gastric bypass surgery. |
