The Study Of The Quality And Improvements Of The Expert Out-patient Medical Service

[Objective] Analyze and summarize the defects of the management in the expertout-patient medical service. According to the above disadvantages, we provideeffective methods, and then apply those methods to clinical practice in order toimprove its service.[Methods] The research investigated management status of the medical carequality, service quality, medical treatment process, medical treatment order ofspecialist out-patient in the form of retrospective data analysis, interviews andquestionnaires. Strategy will be proposed and practiced to improve the service onthe basis of both the literature review and this research. An assessment of theeffect is given as a result.[Results] The outpatient data of a large general hospital from2007-2010showeda year by year increase of the expert outpatient services. But the questionnairesand interviews on203outpatients and102experts showed that the expertoutpatient services still can not meet the needs of patients. The medical treatmentorder needs further regulation. Patients’ unable to making correct choices ofexperts, failing to keep the appointments, insufficient of the experts’ out-call timeare still big problems to be solved. Measures have been taken according to theabove defects to improve the medical service of the hospital. As a consequence,expert outpatient services have been further improved. The appointment registeramount and proportion has increased. The medical environment and medical orderhas been optimized. The satisfaction rate of patients and experts has been greatlyimproved.[Discussion] The expert out-patient service is a window of the external services ofthe hospital and it’s essential to improve the expert outpatient services. Therefining of expert outpatient management, specification of the expert outpatient medical treatment process, the remediation of treatment order, the improvement ofthe supporting services, the qualification of the accessing system and regularappraisal system are all very helpful for the sustainable development of the expertout-patient service.
