Objective:This survey was aim at estimating the nurses’level of the professional self-concept and the strength of their turnover intention in level-3general hospitals in Hang Zhou. After that, the researcher analyzed the related factors, and discussed the relationship and the influence between the self-concept and the turnover intention. Then, she gave some preliminary intervention suggestions to the hospital administer in order to help them to find a better way for the nurses’professional quality training, which will improve the nurses’self-concept level and reduce their extent of turnover intention. It can also provide a theoretical basis for the clinical nursing management.Methods:Researcher investigated the level-3general hospital’s nurses by a questionnaire survey. She chosen the nurses by random sampling and quota sampling ways, and analyzed the data by SPSS17.0.Results:(1) Among the912nurses in this survey,24.6%nurses had strong turnover intention;23.9%nurses wanted to give up their nursing profession strongly.(2) The nurses who have different age, birthplace, marriage and children status, labor properties, job titles, years of experience, the overtime hours, and the cognitive of the nursing work, their strength of turnover intention had significant statistical differences (p<0.05).(3)In this survey, the nurses’total score of professional self-concept was (212.37±19.18), and the ratio points was0.61;For it’s dimension scores’ratio, the professional attitude got the maximum(0.71), and the border relation got the minimum(0.52).(4) The nurse who got different departments and overtime hours their professional self-concept score had significant statistical differences(p<0.05).For the self-concept’s dimensions the demographic factors showed different extent influence.(5)There is a negative correlation between the nurse professional self-concept and the nurses’intention to leave (p<0.05).And for the self-concept’s dimensions, there are ethical moral self,social self and professional attitude have significant negative correlation (p<0.05)with the nurses’turnover intention. With the Logistic regression analysis, there’re factors (ethical moral self, professional attitude, current position, the labor properties, and age) entered the logistic regression model. These factors will influent the nurse’s intention to leave most.Conclusion:In view of the result of this investigation that the level of the nurses’ professional self-concept was not very good and the extent of the nurses’turnover intention was a little high, the hospital administrators can consult it and do some corresponding intervention, to improve the nurses’ professional self-concept level and reduce the extent of their intention to leave. So that they can stabilize the nurse team, improve the work efficiency, and realize a high quality care.
