| Objective:To observe the safety and efficacy of Partner stent in treating patients with coronary artery disease and diabetes mellitus by comparison between Partner stent and Cypher stent.Methods:135patients with coronary artery disease and diabetes mellitus, who were given elective PCI and sirolims eluting stents during February,2008and October,2011in Qin Huang Dao Haiguang Hospital were collected for respective analysis. All the patients were divided into experimental group (Partner group) and control group (Cypher group) due to the stent type. In experimental group, there were68patients with the average age of57.24±10.26years and they were29males and39females. In control group, there were67patients with the average age of57.07±10.28years and they were31males and36females. Routine medications before and after operation were given to the patients with the average follow-up period of360±50days. Intraoperative complications and clinical main adverse cardiac events (MACE) at one month, three months, half a year and one year after the operation were also observed. The patients would be given coronary angiography one year after the operation to see the changes on coronary arterial lesions.Results:(1) General clinical data:The differences of gender, age, height, weight, risk factors (hypertension, dyslipidemia. smoking, alcohol consumption), clinical manifestations (case number of stable angina pectoris, unstable angina pectoris, acute myocardial infraction and old myocardial infraction), lesion type of coronary artery (type A, type B, type C), number of coronary artery branches with lesions and stent (the diameter and length of stent) were not statistically significant (P>0.05).(2) Intraoperative complications:No acute coronary artery occlusion, coronary artery perforation, coronary artery dissection, malignant arrhythmia or death was found in either experimental group or control group. The safety of stent implantation was similar in both groups.(3) Results of follow-up one year after the operation:1)7patients (10.29%) suffered from angina recurrence one year after the operation in experimental group while6patients (8.96%) in control group;2)1patient suffered from acute myocardial infraction (1.47%) in experimental group while0(0%) in control group.3) Cardiac death:no cardiac death was found in either group;4) Coronary angiography one year after the operation:1patient (1.47%) suffered from restenosis in experimental group while1patient (1.49%) in control group. No significant difference was found in MACE between both groups (P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with Cypher, this study has verified that:1) intraoperative complications in patients with coronary artery disease and diabetes mellitus who were treated by Partner were similar as those in patients treated by Cypher and no significant difference of safety was found between both groups.2) the appearance of MACE in Partner group was similar as that in Cypher group through one year follow-up by out-patient, telephone or coronary angiography and no significant difference was found. Therefore, Partner has achieved satisfied clinical effects on reducing MACE. |
