Objective The main aim of the study was to investigate the metabolic syndrome (MS) conditions in Jinghai area of Tianjin aged from10years old and15years old in school-aged children, and to discuss the relationship between MS and metabolic disorders. So we could provide reliable data for the incidence and prevention of MS and obesity. Methods Across-sectional method was carried out in this study. The multi-stage random cluster sampling method was applied to obtain study subjects. There were2596children and adolescents aged from10years old to15years old. They had been measured of the waist circumference (WC), blood pressure (BP), fasting blood glucose (FBG), and bloodlipid and blood uric acid. According to Body mass index, they were divided into three groups, which were overweight group, obesity and normal weight.Results1. This study suggested that the incidence of MS was high in Jinghai area of Tianjin, which we should pay attention to the incidence. The incidence of MS in this population was3.12%,81out2596people. The incidence of MS in boys was significantly higher than girls. There were49female and32male children and adolescents who suffered from MS. In the overweight and obesity school-aged children,81people had been detected as the MS, the incidence of MS is14.70%.2.The incidence of overweight was12.71%, the incidence of obesity was8.51%, among which boy of overweight rate was14.11%, the obesity rate is9.15%, and the girls overweight rate was11.28%, the obesity rate is7.86%,the overweight rate and obesity rate of boys were significantly higher than the girls, p<0.05.3.In order to understand the variation characteristics of bloodlipid between obesity, overweight and normal group, there are obvious differences in triglyceride (TG),total cholesterol(TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).284children and adolescents were dyslipidemia, the incidence was10.94%, among which TG unusual was160cases (6.16%), TC unusual was143cases (5.51%), HDL-C was141cases (5.43%), LDL-C was73cases (2.81%), the level of TG Increased with the age, and the level of HDL-C decreased with the age.4.According to the group of gender, there were significant differences in the blood cholesterol, LDL-C,HDL-C,BMI between boys and girls, of which boy of TC,LDL-C,HDL-C are all lower than girls, and fasting plasma glucose, BMI are higher than the girls,(p<0.05).the TG difference between boys and girls was statistically significant, p>0.05.5. The incidence of hyperuricemia (HUA) was11.59%,301out2596people. Frequency of hyperuricemia in boys was significantly higher than girls, the girls was6.67%,and the boys was16.51%.There was obviously difference in the frequency of hyperuricemia between boys and girls (p<0.05).Compared with normal group, BMI,WC were significantly higher in high uric acid group. Age, WC, BMI, BP were positively correlated with the blood uric acid.Conclusion1. Through the crowd survey, we can conclude that the incidence of the MS and its components in rural areas of Tianjin Jinghai were anomaly. The results suggest that the obesity children had higher risk in metabolic syndrome.2. People with the metabolic syndrome had a higher risk of lipid metabolism disorder. The highest rate of components of the metabolic syndrome is high triglycerides, high blood pressure in abdominal obesity children.3.The incidence of MS in children and adolescents of Jinghai area was3.12%.They have appeared of abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, which were the main risk factors of cardiovascular disease. MS is related to the overweight and obesity, the incidence of MS increased with children’s put on weight. |
