Purpose:Aiming at the lack of tools of quantitative diagnosis and efficacy evaluationfor syndrome research on PMDD, the scale of syndrome severity of PMDD is constructedto provide an auxiliary tool for quantitative diagnosis of syndrome on PMDD; to providean evaluation tool for efficacy evaluation of syndrome on PMDD; to make up the shortageof the quantitative diagnosis of syndrome and the clinical efficacy assessment. Methods:According to the previous study by the task group, a questionnaire based onclinical practice is developed through literature review, Delphi method, item analysis, andexperienced selection. The information of clinical symptoms of44PMDD cases, which arecharacterized on TCM, has been collected. The Excel database has been built so as to inputclinical data. All statistical analysis was finished by SPSS17.0if necessary. The reliabilityand validity of the scale of syndrome severity of PMDD has been tested through the test ofinternal consistency by Split-half Reliability and the Cronbach Coefficient, as well as thetest of Content Validity by professional analysis.Results:(1) Scale of syndrome severity of PMDD with46items has been formedthrough the methods including literature review, Delphi method, item analysis, andexperienced selection.(2) Reliability of the scale shows as follows: Split-Half Reliability:0.871; Cronbach’s α:0.950. Cronbach Coefficient of the symptoms under one syndromeshows as follows: Liver qi depression syndrome:0.894; syndrome of depressed liver qitransforming into fire:0.796; syndrome of liver depression and spleen deficiency:0.782;syndrome of liver qi counterflow:0.717; syndrome of liver depression and blood stasis:0.719; syndrome of liver depression and kidney deficiency:0.884. The reliability of thescale is satisfied. The professional analysis shows that there is a close correlation betweenone syndrome and the symptoms under it. The symptoms under one syndrome well reflectthe characteristics of the syndrome. The Content Validity of the scale is satisfied. Conclusion:Scale of syndrome severity of PMDD has good reliability, validity, andfeasibility. For PMDD, it has application value for quantitative diagnosis and efficacyevaluation of syndromes. For PMDD research on the basis of Chinese medicine or Westernmedicine, the scale is an important tool of diagnosis and efficacy evaluation.
