Objective:Researching the origin of the umbilicus dignosis,its operation methodsand clinical application,which can be better for clinical services.Method and Content:Collecting Huangdi Neijing and the following works which isrelated to umbilicus dignosis and analyzing its origins,the diagnostic method of theumbilicus dignosis and the law of treatment and prognosis.Results:(1) Umbilicus dignosis originates from the period of Huangdi Neijing,NanJing and Shang han Lun and is developed by many doctors from later ages.(2) Umbilicusconnects with twelve channels and has relationship with five zang-organs and sixfu-organs.So umbilicus dignosis can examine not only Thoroughfare Vessel but alsokidney and other organs.(3)Umbilicus is a holographic system and around the umbilicusthere are subsections which can reflect the situation of zang and fu organs.(4)As to thediagnosis methods there are sevel ways:by examining the pulse and pain around theumbilicus,observing the patten,color, luster,size and the appearance of the umbilicus and soon.(5)Umbilicus dignosis also has been widely used in various areas such as areas intreatment,prognosis and obstetrics. While using umbilicus dignosis,we must combine withdiagnostic methods such as inspection auscultation interrogation and palpation.Conclusion:(1)Umbilicus dignosis has a long history.(2) Umbilicus dignosis is amethod which diagnoses diseases by inspecting,interrogating and pressing umbilicus andits appendage.(3) Umbilicus dignosis is used to diagnose diseases of zang-organs andfu-organs and also need to use other methods while in clinic.
