ObjectiveObserve the effectiveness and safety of electro-acupuncture at Xi-cleft points of the sick-lower-limb in treatment of hip joint postoperative acute pain.MethodsUse the method of Randomized Controlled Trials,60patients with acute pain after operation of hip joint (pain level≥2grade) were randomly divided into two groups:The test group were treated with sparse-dense wave electro-acupuncture at the sick-lower-limb’s Xi-cleft points for30minutes, twice pre day, and the control group with intramuscular injection of Meloxicam injection,15mg once, one times per day,30cases in each group. There were21males and9females in test group, the minimum age of them was25years, and the maximum was69, their average age was49.46±13.39years. The postoperative pain level21cases were2grade, and9cases were3grade. And it had18males and12females in control group, the minimum age was24years, and the maximum was70, their average age was47.30±13.92years. The postoperative pain level20cases were2grade and9case were3grade. There was no significant difference between these two group on gender, age, pain level and course by statistical analysis(P>0.05), and these two groups were comparable. Both groups were treatment for3consecutive days and were followed up for two days. Patients’vital signs of the two groups were observed before treatment,0.5hours after treatment, and2hours,8hours,12hours later, at9,13,16,21o’clock of the next day and the third day, and at9o’clock of the follow-up2days. Postoperative Pain Classification Standard Evaluation and Numerical Rating Scale methods were used to record their pain extent at the above observation times. And it was asked to record the cases of side reaction occurrences of both groups in72hours.ResultsAfter treatment, both the methods of electro-acupuncture at the sick-lower-limb’s Xi-cleft points and intramuscular injection of Meloxicam injection had a significant analgesic effect, Both groups had significant difference between before treat and every observation time after treatment (P <0.01).And the situation of pain signs improved between before treat and any observation time after treatment, the decreases mean score for pain signs at all time points before and after analgesic treatment in the test group was fine compared with the control group, the two groups had no significant difference (P>0.05)Except the time point of the next day9o’clock, about the analgesic effect of two groups, the total excellent and good rates were both very high, and the rates reached100%in two groups since the third days13o’clock.The total excellent and good rates of test group was better than the control group at the observe time points of21o’clock the next day and16o’clock the third day (P<0.05), but at other observe time points the two groups were almost the same(P>0.05)In the treatment process of postoperative analgesia, the cases of side reaction occurrences in test group is significantly less than the control group(P<0.01).And safety class comparison, the test group was better than the control group, the two groups had significant difference (P<0.05)ConclusionBoth electro-acupuncture at Xi-cleft points of the sick-lower-limb and the western medicine of Meloxicam injection were having good analgesic effect in treatment of hip joint postoperative acute pain, but the effect of two methods were almost the same. While the side reaction was significantly decreased treat with electro-acupuncture at Xi-cleft points, and safety was also better than analgesic drugs. The clinical analgesic efficacy of electro-acupuncture definitely, and the method has the advantages of simple operation, convenient and safe, non-toxic reaction, worthy of clinical application...
