First part: The significance of the expression of the activin A, inhibin Ain normal endometriumObjective: To explore the relationship between activin A (ACT_A)、inhibinA (INH_A) expression in normal endometrium and serum estradiol (E2)、progesterone (P)、ACT_A、INH_Alevels.Methods: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) SP methods was used to detect theexpression of ACT_Aand INH_Ain normal endometrium. chemiluminescenceand enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were measured in serumE2、P and ACT_A、INH_Alevel.The relationship between ACT_A、INH_Aexpression and serum hormone levels、ACT_A、INH_Alevel were analysed.Results: In the group of the secretory phase,ACT_A、INH_Aexpression werehigher than those in the proliferative phase (P <0.05).Normal endometriumACT_A、INH_Aexpression in the proliferative phase was positively correlatedwith serum E2level, Normal endometrium ACT_A、INH_Aexpression in thesecretory phase was positively correlated with serum E2、P levels.Expressionof ACT_Ain normal endometrium was positively correlated with serum ACT_A level, expression of INH_Ain normal endometrium was positively correlatedwith serum INH_Alevel.Conclusion: ACT_A、INH_Ain the normal proliferative phase and secretoryphase endometrium were both expressed, but it was significantly enhanced insecretory phase. ACT_A、INH_Awere closely related to E2、P and played a rolein paracrine/autocrine mechanisms. Second part:The significance of the the expression of the activin A,inhibin A in endometriosisObjective: To explore the possible role of the altered expression of theactivin A, inhibin A in the pathgenesis of endometriosis.Methods: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) SP methods was used to detect theexpression of ACT_Aand INH_Arespectively in eutopic endometrium andectopic endometrium of the endometriosis patients and compared with that innormal endometrium.Chemiluminescence and enzyme-linked immunosorbentassay (ELISA) were measured in serum E2、P and ACT_A、INH_Alevels. Therelationship between ACT_A, INH_Aexpression and serum hormone levels、ACT_A、 INH_Alevel in two groups were analysed.Results: Expression of ACT_A, INH_Ain endometriosis patients’ eutopicendometrium and ectopic endometrium were stronger than that in patientswith normal endometrium(P <0.05). Conclusion: The hyperexpression of ACT_A、INH_Ain endometriosissuggested that ACT_A、INH_Amay play a role in the pathogenesis ofendometriosis. The similar expression of ACT_A、INH_Ain eutopic and ectopicendometrium of the endometriosis patients suggested that a common biologyfor eutopic and ectopic endometrium in endometriosis.
