Objective:With the progress of medicine and increasing awareness of health, the amount of people taking part in medical examination has considerably increased in recent years. However, there are limited systematic sample researches of the prevalent medical examination abnormalities in China. The aim of this study is to explore prevalence and distribution of abnormal medical indicators, and also provide theoretical support for the government to formulate relevant laws and regulations. Methods:From Jan1st2009to Dec31st2010,75929subjects took medical examination at the First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University. One complete health record included blood routine, lipids, blood glucose, liver function, renal function, electrocardiogram, chest radiography, gynecological examination, Type-B ultrasonography, cytology test for conventional cervical and other physical examinations. Criteria of medical examination results were based on guidelines issued by Ministry of Health. Statistics were analyzed by software SAS9.1.Results:The population consisted of41085male subjects (mean age=43.9) and34844women subjects (mean age=41.7). The highest detection rate of medical examination indicators was thyroid nodules (36.76%), followed by urinary protein positive (33.76%), urine occult blood positive (28.55%). Detection rate of high cholesterol, fatty liver, hypertension, hyperuricemia in male group was higher than female group. Female thyroid nodule detection rate was1.62times that of men. Compared with other groups, civil servants more easily suffered from high blood pressure, uterine fibroids, fatty liver, and hypertension.ConclusionGender, age and occupation factors have definite impact on heath. Regular medical examination can detect physical illness in early stage and treat it promptly.
