| BackgroundMelasma is a common pibment metabolism disorder, and mostly occurs in middle-aged women. Melasma not only affect the apperarance of patients, but also has brought a lot of life and mental suffering. However, it is not yet very clear for the conmplex pathogenesis of melasma and real causes of morbidity. None of the various treatments has a certain effect. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), melasma has been known as "Lihei Ban" for a long history. Numerous masters have done a lot of deep researches on it, and accumulated many effective treatments.ObjectiveThe subject attempts to ancient literature of TCM on melasma etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment based on debate, prescriptions for induction, summed up on the melasma Chinese therapies and prescription drugs, expectations for more effective prevention and control melasma reference and new ideas.Methods"Chinese Medical Classics" as the main database on which to "Mian Chen, Mian Gan, Mian Gan Zeng, Mian Min" as key words, search records related literature. The collected ancient literature is including all physicians on the melasma pathogenesis of awareness, use herbs, Diet of, external treatment and medical and so on. All the screening literature and Fang Yao categorized by frequency analysis (Frequencies) of the data was analyzed. Combine with the understanding of ancient physicians to melasma and TCM theory to analyse the statistical. Systematic summarize of ancient physicians treating melasma experience, into a melasma and treatment database.Results1. The use of "origins, justifying the academic" literature study, to collect ancient herbs melasma documents, the fierst entry on the treatment of disease, herbs, medication varieties, recipe formulation, etc, and systematic analyse. On melasma disease, etiology and pathogenesis, treatment undertook preliminary summary analysis, as melasma research laid the foundationg of literature.2. Use statistics method, from the angle analysis of prescription, ancient phyeicians in exernal and internal treatment aspects in the treatment of melasma treatment characteristics, and the combination of literature research and traditional TCM, summarizes the regularity of ancient doctors.3. Through the above reseasch, combining learning and instructor experience to draw the following conculusion melasma treatment.(1) The discovery of the ancient on melasma naming include "Mian Chen""Mian Gan""Hei Gan""Gan Zeng""Hei Min""Lihei Ban""Gan Ban", ect. It helps for the futher expand the research.(2) Causethe etiological factors and pathogenesis of melasma mainly has:the stagnation of liver-qi, liver and kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency causing sputum and blood stasis and dampness stagnation. Its happenness mainly causes by stasis of blood within the stop, not glory face.(3) Therapeutic aspects include internal treatment external treatment. Internal treatment includes soothing the liver and regulating qi, nourishing kidney yin, Warming kidney Yang, removing dampness and phlegm.
