ObjectiveReading the literature, using the methods of evidence-based medicine, systematic reviews, To evaluate the benefits and harms Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) combing with west medicine in patients with primary nephritic syndrome (PNS). Review systematically whether there is enough existing Evidences that TCM is effective and safe in the treatment of the patients With west medicineMethodsSelection of domestic and international authoritative database for the data source, at home and abroad in recent decades (2001-2011) published clinical research literature, electronic and manual searches, in accordance with the method of systematic review of the international Cochrane Collaboration, computer retrieval [Academic Journal (VIP), the Chinese HowNet database (CNKI), Wanfang Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM); Pubmed (1979-2011), Medical HowNet database, and academic conference materials and dissertation. Manual searches in the second half of2011, more than10kinds of Chinese core journals. The study included the evaluation of methodological quality, and select a good quality randomized controlled trials the use of Rev.Man5.0software Meta-analysis.Results18studies (1081patients) were identified. Meta-analysis showed that: compared the same treatment on the basis of Chinese and Western medicine combined with western medicine group parallel randomized controlled by treatment with the same period of the group of children with PNS, indicating a better clinical efficacy, and better improve the signs and symptoms, lower24h urinary protein quantitative level of blood cholesterol, triglycerides, urea nitrogen, plasma viscosity, relapse rate, and significantly reduce the side effects of the hormone, and increased plasma albumin, but not statistically significant for serum creatinine, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, whole blood viscosity index. But the methododlogical quality is considered low in these stulevels of prevention.ConclusionsBy the result of this study, TCM combining with west medicine therapy PNS more effective than simplex west medicine. However, the evidence is not enough strong because of the low qualities of trials, the small sample sizes and other defect.
