A Study About The Therapical Effect Of Magnesium Sulfate Combined With Hypertonic Saline On Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of magnesium sulfate combined with hypertonic saline on severe traumatic brain injury.Methods120patients with severe traumatic brain injury were randomly divided into control group, magnesium sulfate group, hypertonic saline group,combination administraion group (experimental group).GCS, serum neurone specific enolase (NSE) levels,the incidence of cerebral infarction, the incidence of epilepsy,GOS, mortality were observed and compared in four groups. ResultsGCS,NSE,GOS were significantly improved in experimental group compared to control group.Experimental group also reduced the incidences of cerebral infarction and epilepsy,but it was no significant difference. Magnesium sulfate group and hypertonic saline group only decreased NSE levels.ConclusionMagnesium sulfate combined with hypertonic saline can improve the prognosis of severe traumatic brain injury.It has few side effects and is cheap. It might be an effective cerebral protective agent.
