ObjectivesTraditional theory about restoration is that the complete dentition is the formation of healthy masticatory system and prerequisite for the satisfaction of stomatognathic function, so as soon as possible repairing teeth is a traditional principle of restoration. The shortened dental arch(SDA) theory:Short arch with4-5on occlusal restoration is to meet the oral function and comfortment, dentition defect repairment should emphasize recovery rather than the pursuit of a complete reconstruction of dentition. SDA method is suitable for the elderly of dentition defect repair treatments, it is a challenge to traditional principles of restoration, and it has been used now more and more dental doctors of the world attention. There are a number of scholars who have studied the effects of molarless on masticatory function, but the first premolar on the masticatory function has not been studied in domestic. We explore unilateral premolarless on masticatory function, and we want to provide reference materials for restoration of dentition defect. Materials and methodsCollecting clinical orthodontics we want to subtract the first Premolar in meet the requirements of99patients, every patient before and after tooth extraction need to be measured their chewing efficiency by weighing method on the left and right sides, respectively, and bilateral that will be a total of6times.Testers chew20times and cannot swallow peanet during chewing, and all chewing spit in the cup holder, then mouthwash together into the cup. Add distilled water diluted suspension liquid intake filter filtrate of filter paper and then diluted and as a test sample. Put the test sample into a722-ultraviolet spectrophotometer to test on, and adjust the wavelength to590nm determination-value, and record the results. Mix residual part of water in lmin and then pour them into200mesh sieve to filter. Take no sieving residues after drying, calculate the masticatory efficiency. Questionnaire after each tooth extraction, ask them tooth chewing subjectively if they feel affected.resultsBefore and after tooth extraction, dental lateral, non-tooth side and double-sided chewing efficiency found it has no significant change.Questionnaires showed that99patients after tooth extraction said they were not significant impacted.conclusionEffects of one first premolar loss on masticatory function had not been significantly affected.
