Prevention Research On The Effect Of Professional Oral Cabinter Vention On Diabetic Patients With Peri-implantitis

Purpose：To improve oral implant success rate of the patients sufferingdiabetes through professional oral care intervention for diabetes patients whohad received oral implant restoration.Methods：98cases with diabetes who had received oral implant denturerepair in implant center of Stomatology Hospital of Jilin University at least halfyears ago were involved in a questionnaire. At the same time48cases from98cases with diabetes who received a total of58implants were randomly dividedinto2groups respectively. Then these2groups received professional oral careand routine dental care respectively. After3and6months different intervention,the detection of implant improved bleeding index (mSBI), plaque index(PLI), probing depth (PD) and Jemt interdental papilla index on2groups ofpatients was applied. The statistical analysis had been completed after theclinical examination.Results： Survey results:3.2%patients had teeth brushing3timesdaily;14%patients had teeth brushing longer than3minutes;44.1%patientsused dental floss and interdental brush regularly;15.1%patients hadn’tfollowed medical orders of regular further consultation;46.2%patients failedin receiving peri-implantal scaling. The clinical examination results of Oralnursing intervention group were significantly better than the control group (P <0.05) which took oral hygine by themselves. Besides, the effect became moreand more significant with time.Conclusion:1There are some differences existing in oral healthmaintenance of patients after oral implant restoration. And most of the patientswere lack of professional oral care. 2Oral nursing for patients with diabetes mellitus after the implantprosthesis and peri-implantitis occurrence has certain preventive effect, whichcan improve the success rate of dental implant restoration.
