Fructus evodiae (Evodia rutaecarpa(Juss)Benth.)is an important Chinese medicinal plant. Its efficacy and pharmacological medicine play an important role in the market on the Evodia the demand is also growing. To understand the moderating effect of balanced fertilization on soil fertility and growth characteristics, provide the scientific bases for drawing up reasonable prescription fertilization, promoting virtuous cycle of the soil and Sustainable Forest Management, this research is about the soil enzyme activity, growth characteristics, and photosynthesis of fructus evodiae under different treatments in Zhangshu.(1) The influence from different fertilization treatment to activities of soil enzyme could be embodied as:between soil layers of0-20cm and20-40cm, the activities of converzyme processed by N1P1K1, urease, and acid phosphatase were higher. There is no distinct and regular affect for fertilization upon the activity of catalase. For the other three enzymes, the activities of soil enzymes treated by balanced fertilization, especially the one with N1P1K1, is generally higher these treatments with potassium/phosphate deficiency.(2) The feature of dynamic variation for soil enzymes activities in different reasons: under the effect of soil temperature, all the four enzymes exhibit higher activity in summer.(3) The feature of depth distribution for soil enzyme activities:as long as the depth of soil layer decreases, the activities of all four enzymes go down.(4) Reasonable fertilization could stimulate the growth of Evodia rutaecarpa Different fertilization treatments to Evodia rutaecarpa’s result in both higher geometricvertical growth and more spring-tip sprouting compared to the group with CK treatment. Specifically, treatment with N1P2K1creates the quickest geometric vertical growth and treatment with N1P1K1corresponds to best spring-tip sprouthing.(5) Balanced fertilization could effectively boost the output of Evodia rutaecarp a and simultaneously guarantee its quality. The N1P1K1treatment generates the high est yield per plant in two locations. The amount of spring-tip is highly significantly positive correlated to the output of Evodia rutaecarpa. The N1P1K1treatment could, to the most degrees, increase the content of evodiamine and rutaecarpine. Insufficient phosphate fertilizer would have a negative effect on the growth of yield per plant, and insufficient potassic fertilizer would have both negative effect on the growth of yield per plant and its quality improvement.(6) Adequate fertilization has a strong effect on the photosynthetic physiological Indexes of evodia’s leaves. Comprehensively, the N1P1K1treatment has the strongest influence on evodia’s photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, and intercellular concentration of carbon dioxide, which indicates that under balanced fertilization the evodia maximizes its ability to absorb/transport moisture and assimilate carbon dioxide. The photosynthetic indexes operate differently during differentperiods in a day. Some degree of significant correlation exist between major indicators of evodia’s photosynthesis. There are highly significantly negative correlation exhibited between photosynthetic rate and intercellular concentration of carbon dioxide, highly significantly significantly positive correlation between stomatal conductance, and highly significantly negative correlation between transpiration rate and intercellular concentration of carbon dioxide.(7) Correlation analysis shows that:in the upper soil layer (0-20cm) for evodia’s harvest time, the activity of converzyme is significantly positive correlated to evodiamine, and rutaecarpine is significantly positive correlated to activities of converzyme, urease, and acid phosphatase. In the lower soil layer (20-40cm), the activities of converzyme and urease are significantly positive correlated to evodiamine, and rutaecarpine is significantly positive correlated to activities of converzyme and urease. In these two soil layers, there is no significant correlation exhibited between four soil enzymes’activities and the thousand-grain weight of evodia rutaecarpa. Under the conditions of this experiment, except for the activity of catalase, the rest three enzymes’activities are significantly correlated to the output of evodia rutaecarpa in the harvest time of two-layer soil.Under the experimental conditions, the harvest of two layers of soil in addition to the hydrogen peroxide activity of Evodia production does not meet the significant correlation, the other three enzyme activities and the Evodia yield significant correlation.
