In recent years, many experts both at home and abroad has made a lot of research on the structural flexibility, there is a lot of research. But in most of study on the elastic-plastic is in the stage of theoretical study, lack of practical engineering experience.As the construction process and technology development, in recent years, numerous convenient features, handsome in appearance, energy saving and environmental protection of high-rise steel buildings are springing up, which are standing around the world. The unique model of steel structure buildings give the city a bright color. However, the structural form of the buildings are complex. The complexity of the structural form poses a huge challenge for the structural analysis of seismic performance ananlysis. Seismic performance analysis is non-negligible part of building structures. Especially in recent years, large and small earthquakes happen to our structure, it is a wake-up call for our engineers. How to assess and ensure the reliability of structures under earthquake has become the most popular problem which designers take into account, but for analysis of the high-rise steel structure is brutally hard. Modern architectural model of the ancient style is especially unique and complex layout, in order to accommodate this large development, it is increasingly favored in steel structures, which mainly depends on the diversity, short construction period of steel structures, earthquake resistance performance good and high strength advantages.Although steel structure has a better seismic performance, but the1995kobe earthquake in Japan, large amounts of steel structure architectures were devastated by the earthquake[1](serious damage of steel structure buildings up to548), these facts also wake up designers for a study on seismic performance of steel structure building, and it is great and far-reaching significance.In recent years, with the height of the building growing rapidly, the complex degree is increasingly prominent, full elastic theory for structural analysis and design have been difficult to meet the requirements of the building. Therefore, elastic-plastic analysis method is particularly important.This paper based on a steel tower of Jing chuan in Gansu province and the domestic and foreign experts’study use SAP2000software for finite element analysis on structure to analyze the structure in the8security, design service life of50years. The following is the case of elastic-plastic analysis:1.SAP2000software for finite element analysis analyze static elastic-plastic (Push-over) analysis of the structure. Gravity load applied to structure the nonlinear conditions. Impose the platic hinge on the beams and columns of the structure. Consider four different conditions:gravity+vibration mode1, gravity+vibration mode2, gravity+X to acceleration and gravity+Y to acceleration. Through pushover analysis we can know the deformation process and development of the structure. At the same time we can get the information of the plastic hinge. Finally, come to the structural weaknesses and assessing the seismic performance of structures.2.Research dynamic elastic-plastic analysis of the structure through SAP2000software for finite element analysis. Study three kinds of seismic waves under dynamic elasto-plastic time-hitory analysis.Impose the platic hinge on the beams and columns of the structure. By elasto-plastic time-history analysis of plastic hinge in the development process, as well as displacements of the structure, and thus assess the security property and seismic performance of structures.Through this analysis, come to the seismic performance of structure in the limit case, and predict ability of the structure which can withstand earthquakes in the future. Hope to provide reference and research for the design of high-rise steel structure of Tower-like in the future.
