With a certain degree of pozzolan activity, using fly ash and cinder as a buildingmaterials are efficient to consume waste and reduce environmental pollution.Simultaneously,it can also improve the economic benefit and be a new economicgrowth point of the enterprises. In view of this, this paper focuses on the study offeasibility by experiment of using high calcium fly ash and cinder from a coal ganguethermal power plant as cement admixture and the impact of mixing amount of fly ash tothe strength of concrete in different water-binder ratio.Cement test results show that the fly ash,a high-calcium one with impermissiblelevels of SO3,should not be used for cement admixture alone, but in right amount,it canbe used as cement admixture with other cinders. With low CaO,SO3and ignition loss, the cinder from the thermal power plant is proved to be used as cement admixture aftergrinding. The defect of high content of CaO,SO3in fly ash can be overcome when it ismixed with cinder, low content of CaO,SO3,from the thermal power plant. The optimalmixing ratio of gypsum on the performance of cement, when cinder is used alone ormixed with fly ash as cement admixture is given.Concrete test results show that, with the increasing of fly ash content, the strengthreduction of high water-binder ratio concrete is significantly greater than that of lowwater-binder ratio ones; For concrete in all range of water-binder ratio, with theincreasing of fly ash content,the7d strength reduction is significantly greater than thatof28d.
