Nowadays, a large amount of teaching resources emerge on the network, but most of them aremultifarious, mutual repeat, lack of effective organization and management, and can't be fully utilized.Teaching database provides convenient access to resources for users, and provides teaching resourcesfeedback for the evaluation management, makes the foundation for the enhancement to the utilization rateof teaching material and education informationization by memory management, But the internal teachingresource of universities limits the education resources sharing and integration because of development tools,heterogeneity of the platform, so it becomes very necessary to develop a flexible advanced teachingdatabase.Domestic "education resources construction technical specifications (the CELTS)" provided uniformstandard for the data construction of the teaching resource database, and presenting of the SOA offersadvanced architecture models for the construction of teaching database, and mature Web service technologyprovides the technical support for the realization of the SOA theory. To develop a reusable and extensibleteaching database with unified standards, and loose coupling, cross-platform, not only could solve thesituation of information islet of today's teaching resources, but also can provide guarantee for the expansionof the system in the future.Since the SOA teaching database can reach requirements above. Firstly, the construction status of theteaching resources at home and abroad were analyzed, and in-depth study on the LOM standard, CELTSstandard, the SOA architecture and Web services, hereafter, requirements analysis in the system wereapplied, and the functional structure of the system were nailed down. In support of these theories andtechniques, attempt of designing an SOA-based teaching resource library was achieved. The repository usesa layered architecture model, and provides a good interface via web services, which is characterized byintact encapsulation, standardized-protocol landmark, a high degree of integration, clear and reasonableSystem structure as well as powerful scalability.SOA-based teaching resource library make it possible for databases and XML files to bind, whichmakes Data between different databases in different platforms turn into extensible XML language through mapping and makes it possible for data exchange between heterogeneous databases. Resource pool hasachieved the success of web services call. By providing a different service interface, Different systemfunctions are achieved as well as abstract service interface available for expansion of the system, whichimproves the reuse of the system as far as possible. The system is equipped with plentiful functions andclear structure, which provides a feasible solution for the construction of the library of teaching resources inthe future.
