As the requirement on high time resolution and high spatial resolution of remote sensing data in satellite application areas is increasing gradually, the demands for all-day and wide-range remote sensing earth observation become more and more urgent. The design of the CCD camera which is a core component of remote sensing imaging system becomes a key problem in the remote sensing earth observation research. It is necessary to research vast factors that affect the CCD camera's performance in the design stage of CCD cameras. Remote sensing image simulation system gives a better method by analyzing different simulation results, which can be easily gotten using different configuration parameters. It is a feasible way to provide reference for the design of the CCD camera.According to optical imaging of CCD cameras on geo-stationary satellites, this dissertation introduces a full-link remote sensing imaging simulation model based on terrain analysis. It includes light, atmosphere, land cover, remote sensors and other factors synthetically. For the land cover analysis, this dissertation proposes a method to build a database in the simulation. First, land cover categories are determined based on the spectral characteristics; then, classification algorithms are used for the land cover classifications; finally, the result is stored into the database. The simulation system gets the land cover distribution information based on the current shooting scenes. For the integration time of the remote sensing camera in the simulation system, this dissertation presents an optimal integration time calculating algorithm based on image quality assessment. The algorithm uses the improved exposure estimation algorithm based on histograms to get the range of normal exposure time, and then uses the image quality assessment methods to calculate the optimal exposure time in the selected range.Land cover analysis is an important part of the simulation system, while the proposed solution can provide a good support for the simulation system. The optimum intergration time calculating algorithm can guide the camera's exposure, and provides an important reference to the camera design, which has very important significance.
