The development of hearing aids gets people's attention gradually with the deafness has become a worldwide problem. The core of digital hearing aids is the speech signal processing technology, and its performance depends on digital signal processing algorithms largely. As a result the research on the key technologies of digital hearing aids has its important theoretical significance and practical value. This paper mainly studies speech enhancement algorithm based on auditory masking. The main work includes the following aspects:1. This paper makes analysis and research on the key technologies in digital hearing aids: speech enhancement, wide-dynamic compression, frequency-shift compression and feedback elimination technology. The paper describes them in detail from the principle and implementation procedure.2. This paper researches speech enhancement technology deeply. Aiming at the problem that spectral subtraction algorithm leads to "music noise", the article mainly analyses the auditory masking and study the speech enhancement algorithm based on auditory masking. The speech enhancement algorithm has been improved which based on auditory masking in order to make speech has better clarity and hearing experience. On one hand, the algorithm analyzes the factors which affect the gain function and adjusts one parameter according to masking threshold adaptively. On the other hand, subjoin a filter to the preliminary processed signal.3. The algorithms above are implemented and evaluated by both objective and subjective testing. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can ameliorate the effect of speech enhancement, reduce noise interference and makes the speech quality better.
