Just as a saying goes that food is the paramount necessity of the people. So grain security is a big problem related to the people's livelihood. Storing grain, we need to do real time control the changes of various parameters of the grain in the granary, and adopt corresponding measures to deal with these changes, so as to ensure that the grain not deteriorate in a long time, and reduce the losses in the process of grain storage. Thus, grain situation monitoring system is born at the right moment. In recent years, along with the appearance of remote monitoring technology, grain situation monitoring system is gradually developing from the traditional artificial practices to the current grain situation remote monitoring system. That remote monitoring technology is used in grain situation monitoring system is a significant improvement.This topic roots in the design of the grain situation remote monitoring system project of Xi'an Yan Liang Area Mu Zheng grain supply center. This design mainly consists of four parts, the client (computer), the upper computer (computer), communication host, and measurement and control extension. Through the remote monitoring software, the client can realize its remote access and control function to the upper computer. And through the communication host and each measurement and control extension, the upper computer can conduct its real-time communication, and get the data of the grain temperature, humidity and so on. Measurement and control extension takes ultra low power single chip MSP430F149 as its ActionServlet and makes full use of the singlechip's data processing and real-time monitoring abilities. The communication host mainly completes information exchange between the upper computer and the measurement and control extension. In addition, the communication host receives the instructions from the upper computer and then sends them the measurement and control extension, and in the meantime transmits the data measured by the measurement and control extension to the upper computer. With the help of the upper computer, the administrative staff can manage the software and check the data report, temperature and humidity graph and so on. The following operations are done in this design:1. Made extensive understanding of the development of Grain situation monitoring system. and on the basis of it finished the overall design of the grain situation remote monitoring system.2. Designed and realized the serial communication between the upper computer and the measurement and control extension. As for the problems appeared in current grain situation monitoring system, such as lightning protection, electromagnetic interference (EMI), etc. we carried out the design accordingly so as to improve the reliability and safety of the grain situation remote monitoring system; meanwhile, completed the database design for this grain situation remote monitoring system.3. Make use of the key techniques needed by remote monitoring software design to realize network service between the client and the upper computer. These key techniques, including C/S network structure, the TCP/IP protocol, network socket, etc.4. Set the system in motion and tested it, checked the function of each unit and each module to meet the expected design requirements for the grain situation remote monitoring system.
